I work from a studio with a view of a hundred shades of green, in the heart of Derbyshire. With old coffee tins full of pencils and shelves full of paper; it’s relaxing creative space. Very suitable for a relaxed creative!
My inspiration comes from all the pretty things around me. For example my garden in June, with the big old fashioned roses and dark pink peonies. I find even the naughty dandelions with their bold bright yellow inspire me. Getting a little over excited by typefaces with serifs or swashes happens regularly and of course notebooks – you can never have too many right?
I like the simple things in life, a good cup of coffee, Pimms in the sunshine, and a full English breakfast. I also have to confess I have a very soft spot for a fabulous pair of Mary Jane shoes.
My wedding stationery story starts when I met this hansom fellow called Sean. Sean has a sister, Nuala, and Nuala was getting married. One evening back in 2004 I nervously showed her a doodle that I thought she could use for her wedding stationery.
On the back of those first invitations I printed ‘With Love’ as a little note to Nuala and Paul. That’s how my company got its name!
My background as a freelance stationery designer, and my experience managing the family retail business gave me the knowledge and push to turn that little doodle into a thriving business. A business I am very proud of.
I then married that hansom fellow, we have a gorgeous little girl, Isabella and a waggy black Labrador called Polly.
